![]() ![]() ![]() of the game and I regularly see how people are sad that this game died by their comments, some of them being recent. There are channels on YT where people provided commentaries, gameplay etc. Second way is for me to reach out to many of the players who gave up on the game due to the server shut down primarily via YouTube. First step is to introduce it to existing active RTS fans which GR thankfully has it. Many people would like to test out a new quality RTS game and I'm willing to slowly build up a community for it. This game, from my perspective, has the potential. So the bigger question is, why? And IMO that's due to the lack of good RTS games. One of the major reasons why I brought up this idea is how I see other GR sections, where the games are still supported by the devs and are operated online, are practically dead. I'm actually seeing very few games on GameRanger, and there might be some very small communities elsewhere but I do understand that there is no strong "existing" one for this game and I never assumed that. So this isn't a big issue, plus it was published by EA technically "illegal" but since there is no other way to purchase the game, we have all downloaded it. ![]() How can we get a community going for a game that isn't sold anymore, is unknown and abandoned by the devs?ĭon't forget that all BfMe games (BfMe I, II and RotWk) are also abandoned by the devs and the only way people are playing the game right now is. How does GR benefit from a section that has no community at all? The game is abandoned by the devs, but i doubt it is freeware? How do you/we plan to get a community for it? I doubt we can still buy this game somewhere online? This post has been edited by The Smoking Man™: Jan 2 2016, 09:04 AM This is exactly my point, there is a bad shortage of good RTS games and AoE is a really good one so if we put aside the fact that it died years ago, just like how the BfMe franchise died too, we can build a small stable community around this game. Plus I wouldn't compare OpenRA to AoE, not only they are completely different but in terms of quality openRA comes nowhere near AoE. Anyway that shouldn't be an issue, I can upload the game somewhere for download. There are many legit torrents and the game download size is less than 1GB which is another convenience. It's not hard to find it, very easily actually. It's hard to expect a different fate for an unpopular title. An actually popular and free game, OpenRA, doesn't do so well despite the fact its main developer actually asked for support and tried to convince people to join GR. See, it's hard to maintain existing sections, let alone make new ones. Privacy Statement - Contact Us.It will be hard to find the game itself, first and foremost.
